Payment & Security Policy
At TARTARUGA we take payment security as seriously as we design our collections. We work with trusted gateways and apply strong security controls so you can shop with peace of mind.
1. Accepted payment methods
- Credit or debit card
We accept Visa, Visa Electron, Maestro and Mastercard through the secure gateway operated by CaixaBank (Redsys/ServiRed). The charge is made in real time once your issuing bank’s checks are completed. After payment you will receive an order confirmation email. - PayPal
Pay quickly and securely with your PayPal account. After completing payment you’ll be redirected back to TARTARUGA and receive a confirmation email. - Bank transfer or deposit
If you select this option, we will email you our CaixaBank account details and instructions.
• Orders are processed once the amount has been received and confirmed.
• Any bank fees are borne by the customer.
• Include your order number in the reference to speed identification. - Cash on delivery (COD)
Pay the courier upon delivery. This service carries a 3% fee with a €3 minimum, charged by the carrier for handling payment.
• Available only in certain areas of Spain and subject to validation.
• Not available for international shipments nor, in general, for the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla. - Aplazame
You may also finance your purchase with Aplazame, an instalment service that lets you split the cost into several payments.
• Choose the number of instalments and see the total cost before confirming your order.
• When selected, you will be redirected to Aplazame’s platform to complete the process.
• Credit approval and applicable conditions are decided exclusively by Aplazame under its financing policies.
• TARTARUGA only provides access to this method and does not participate in the approval process nor assume responsibilities arising from the contractual relationship between the customer and Aplazame.
2. Transaction security
- End-to-end encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) during checkout.
- We do not store full card details; processing is handled by the certified payment provider.
- Card payments protected by SCA/3-D Secure (e.g., Verified by Visa, Mastercard Identity Check).
- Gateways used comply with industry standards (e.g., PCI requirements of the provider).
3. Anti-fraud checks
To protect our customers and TARTARUGA, we may perform additional verifications (e.g., identity or address confirmation) and reject or cancel orders when a fraud risk is detected. If an order is cancelled after payment, a full refund will be issued.
4. Invoicing
We issue electronic invoices by default to your order email. If you prefer a paper invoice or need VAT details for companies, reply to your confirmation email or contact us at pedidos@tartaruga.es.
5. Currency and taxes
Prices are shown in euros (€). Unless otherwise stated, amounts include VAT. If your bank account operates in another currency, your bank may apply exchange fees. Import duties or local taxes, where applicable, are not included and follow our Shipping Policy.
6. Payment refunds
Refunds arising from returns are governed by our Returns & Exchanges Policy. Once a return is approved, we instruct the refund via the original payment method. The posting time depends on your provider: card and PayPal refunds usually appear within 3–10 business days; bank transfers require an IBAN.
7. Help with declined payments or issues
If a payment is declined or you experience issues, check your details and available funds, confirm any required 3-D Secure authentication with your bank, try another payment method, or contact us at pedidos@tartaruga.es.
